  • We recently visited The Village Tavern for the first time and had a mixed experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess, Alivia, who asked if we had a reservation. While that’s a standard question, we watched an elderly group in front of us receive a rather curt response from her when they explained they had difficulty making a reservation online. Her sharp reply, “I was just asking if you had a reservation, you don’t need one” came off as cold and unwelcoming. When it was our turn, we told her we had a party of four and asked about seating options since we’d never been there. She seemed visibly annoyed by the question and was generally disengaged throughout the interaction. As the first point of contact for guests, I’d highly recommend some customer service training, or at the very least, a friendlier demeanor. We all have off days, but being visibly unhappy in a customer-facing role leaves a sour first impression. Thankfully, our server Cayden turned things around. He was kind, attentive, and made helpful suggestions throughout our meal. The food arrived quickly and was overall enjoyable. We started with the artichoke dip, a small serving of dip but a very generous pile of chips. Despite the imbalance, the dip was hot, cheesy, and flavorful. The kids’ menu was a standout, great variety and surprisingly affordable (cheaper than a McDonald’s kid’s meal!). The new crispy buttermilk sandwich was a hit, and the sweet potato fries were perfectly crisp. The French dip was also delicious, with generous portions that left us full and satisfied. The drink menu is extensive, featuring wine, liquor, cordials, and craft cocktails. We visited during brunch, where they advertise $2 off certain cocktails, although that discount wasn’t applied to our bill (we didn’t mention it). They also offer half-off wine on Wednesdays, which wine lovers will appreciate given their large selection. The atmosphere is dark but elegant, very clean, spacious, and with great acoustics. You can actually enjoy a conversation without shouting. Overall, it’s a solid spot for food and drinks, with great service at the table but a rocky start at the door. If they could improve their front-of-house hospitality, it would make for a much better overall experience.

  • Walking into the restaurant there was a very good atmosphere a good feeling the people working there cared about what they are doing and your experience. We had a table for 5 next to the fire place it was very nice and unexpected it felt like the best table in the place. Greeted quickly and ordered drinks a few beers, a bottle of wine, and a mocktail for myself very good blueberry zero proof drink which came out timely. We talked a bit and enjoyed our drinks for a few then ordered. A few got a caesar salad they said was wonderful and I ordered a beat salad which was excellent. Entrees we got Ribs, Brick Chicken, Prime Rib, and I ordered a house made veggie burger with sweet potato fries. Everyone enjoyed their meals no complaints the sides were good green beans very good as well as the fries. My veggie burger was really well made a fantastic blend of flavors really good. Might have been the best sweet potato fries I have had, not overly seasoned or breaded just cooked perfect. We had a few in our group that are lets say a bit picky about their meals and they really had good things to say about the experience. It was a Tuesday the place was pretty busy the music wasn't too loud and the room noise was not either which was nice. Again it seemed like the employees really enjoyed working there and it showed. I highly suggest this establishment the service is excellent the options are fantastic something for everyone the toughest thing is deciding what to order. Not so much you get over whelmed but enough to serve any craving you might have. Fish, Steak, Ribs, Chicken, Burgers, Sandwiches, Salads, Pastas, Flat Bread Pizzas, Vegetarian options, should I keep going or do you get it. So take if from some random guy who has done every job in the restaurant industry starting as dish washer, bus boy, host, runner, server, bartender, manager, prep cook, line cook, and sous chef. You should probably eat here if you haven't already.

  • We had an amazing experience at Village Tavern! We started with the roasted cauliflower, which was absolutely heavenly — perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. The veggie burger was fresh, tasty, and one of the best we’ve had in a while. The fries were crisp and delicious too! A special shoutout to our waitress Emily, who was incredibly sweet, attentive, and made the experience even better. Great place, great food, and wonderful service all around. We loved it so much we ended up leaving an 80% tip — they truly earned it! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for quality food and genuine hospitality.

  • Village Tavern 8787 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85253 I recently enjoyed a delightful dinner with friends at Village Tavern in Scottsdale, AZ, after a productive day showing commercial buildings in Phoenix. Upon arrival, the atmosphere was inviting, and while the hostess could have been a bit warmer, our server truly shone. I was initially impressed when she took our orders without writing anything down, and she flawlessly remembered everything! My friends raved about their meals, and I was eager to share my experience as well: Clam Chowder**: While I found it a bit rich and thick for my taste, the flavor was delightful, especially with a dash of Tabasco. Fish and Chips**: The fries were tasty, but the fish could use a little enhancement to reach its full potential. The standout of the evening was undoubtedly our server, who provided exceptional service throughout our meal. Overall, my friends and I had a fantastic time, and I’m giving Village Tavern 4 stars, primarily for the outstanding service!

  • 4.5 star experience, but rounding up for delicious food! Staff at check-in were friendly & welcoming. The restaurant was very busy, with lively ambiance. I ordered filet mignon, which was so tender that I cut it with a butter knife. Service by server Shawn K was efficient, but not very personable. I would definitely return for another delicious steak.

  • Meals were excellent. The seat level of the booth was a little higher than optimal but they didn't all look that way. The place was quite busy so our server seemed a little rushed but took care of us well. I would recommend it and would return.

  • Our server, Art, blew us all away with his knowledge of the menu, the restaurant's history, and, in particular, his awesome familiarity with Oregon wines! He was compassionate, empathetic, and sympathetic (as I witnessed the delicate and thoughtful way he assisted a physically challenged gentleman in a nearby booth). Additionally, he treated us with patience and tolerance, affording us ample opportunity to delve into the vast menu. He was always polite and soft-spoken. Art was attentive without being intrusive. Art ensured that we thoroughly savored our elegant dining experience. That is to say nothing about the food and beverages portion of the evening. Art was so completely and totally engaging, that we almost forgot we were hungry and thirsty. My wife said her halibut was prepared the best she has ever tasted, not to mention that the fish itself was absolutely beyond compare. I myself reveled in the Blackened Chicken Alfredo; and, the balance and freshness of the spices was perfect. Our house guest and my daughter's soulmate, visiting from Japan, adored her Mediterranean Bowl. All three dishes were beautifully presented. The lovely evening was topped off with key lime pie, my absolute favorite, especially when made from scratch, accompanied by Dreyer's Vanilla Ice Cream. Finally, my wife and our beloved friend shared your scrumptious carrot cake!

  • I really love the food here, especially the Thai Chicken Salad it’s so good. The crème brûlée is also a favorite, and the service is always excellent. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is consistently great, and even though it gets busy during lunch and happy hour, the wait is usually short and worth it.
